£577 raised for Chesil Sailability

 

The £577 was raised through Vicky’s kind donation of her painting ‘Tumble Over the Rocks’, a bottle of champagne kindly donated by Christine and Ian Gibson, and her husband Nick’s bags of Bloomin Amazing soil enricher.

Karen Boyce was the lucky winner of the painting with ticket number 217

Fran Taylor won the bottle of champagne with ticket number 187

And 36 bags of Bloomin Amazing were sold for £5 each

RCA Secret 2013 - ARTISTS NAMES REVEALED

 

RCA Secret returned in 2013 to the Royal College of Art’s Dyson Building

RCA Secret is an exhibition and sale of original postcard-sized artworks, by invited internationally acclaimed artists plus up-and coming graduates from the Royal College of Art.
 
This year’s event contained 2700 works by 1034 artists. Yinka Shonibare, Paula Rego, John Baldessari, David Bailey, Christo, Paula Rego, Frank Bowling and Julian Opie all made special works for the exhibition, as well as architect Zaha Hadid, fashion designers Christopher Bailey, Manolo Blahnik and Paul Smith, and Wallace & Gromit creator Nick Park. Friday to Monday 11 am to 5 pm.

Crisp winter mornings, dark woodland, the structure of leafless trees, hoary hedgerows, snow clad slopes, early golden sunsets, glowing berries and the warmth of winter fires and sloe gin. The artists featured at ‘the Gallery at 41’ celebrate the changing season in all its variety, in landscape, interiors, still life and figurative paintings in a range of mediums. POP UP DORSET - ST GEORGE CHURCH, PORTLAND

Another great Olympic venue, right on top of the island and some fabulous views over the bay.  If the latest traffic is anything to go by just drive right on up there as the roads are quieter than in the winter!  I have 1 painting there and the exhibition runs for 6 weeks so 'pop' along for a look, and a chat with the lovely curators.

DAW 2012 Raffle Result - Breakthrough Breast Cancer

Isabelle Mace, Chairman of Dorset Breakthrough came to draw the Dorset Art Weeks 2012 Raffle at Venue 72 on Sunday 10th June in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer. The prize was one of my canvases called 'Rugged Shoreline'. We raised a total of £275.00. The winner was ticket number 98, Mrs Eileen Jones (Piddlehinton). All proceeds from the raffle will be going to Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Informal abstraction from exposure to wild cliff tops, mountain forests and local woodlands. Sizes up to 4' x 4' in oil and mixed media. Exhibition space has excellent views to Maiden Castle and Clandon Barrow.
